Could a Two-Step vaccine beat the flu for good?
NCT ID NCT03816878
First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This early-stage study tested whether giving a booster shot of an H5N1 flu vaccine to people who had previously received other experimental flu vaccines could create broader, longer-lasting protection. Thirty-two healthy adults took part to see if this 'prime-boost' approach safely boosts antibodies against multiple flu strains. The goal is to move toward a universal flu vaccine that doesn't need yearly updates.
