Inclusion Criteria: * above 18 years old, * suffering from non-malignant chronic pain (defined as pain lasting for more than three months) and, * being managed entirely within a primary care setting. Exclusion Criteria: * are not fluent in the English language, * have concomitant severe mental health problems or terminal illness, * have a known alcohol or drug addiction, and * suffer from pain caused by cancer or other malignancy.
