Summary
This study talked to 50 adults with long-term (non-cancer) pain and their healthcare providers to learn about their experiences managing pain in primary care. The goal was to use this information to create a decision aid tool that helps patients and doctors make informed choices together during appointments. The study did not test any new treatment, but focused on improving communication and shared decision-making.
