First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tests whether a transplant of umbilical cord blood can slow the progression of ALS, a fast-moving nerve disease. Eight adults with early-stage ALS will receive the transplant and be monitored for safety and changes in muscle strength, breathing, and nerve damage. The goal is to reduce brain inflammation and immune problems that make ALS worse.
