Ultrasound may replace painful scope for colitis patients
NCT ID NCT07358923
First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study will check if a special ultrasound technique can accurately measure inflammation in people with moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis. About 25 adults starting a new medication will get both ultrasound and a standard camera scope exam over 24 weeks. If ultrasound works well, it could offer a non-invasive way to monitor disease without the need for frequent colonoscopies.
