New study tests two techniques to make sinus surgery safer and less messy

NCT ID NCT06984913

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tested two methods to numb a nerve cluster in the nose during sinus surgery: one using ultrasound and the other using a computer navigation system. The goal was to see which method better reduces bleeding and improves the surgeon's view. Sixty adults having sinus surgery took part, and the results will help doctors choose the best numbing technique.
