Summary
This study tested a new high-frequency ultrasound probe to see if it can measure gum pocket depth as accurately as the standard manual probing method for diagnosing periodontal disease. Thirty-nine adults participated, and researchers compared measurements from both methods. The goal is to provide a less painful and more detailed way to catch gum disease early.
