New scan could give cancer patients faster answers

NCT ID NCT05957042

Summary

This study aimed to test if a special type of ultrasound scan, called contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS), could tell doctors whether a patient's triple-negative breast cancer was responding to their combined chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatment. The goal was to see if this scan could detect treatment success or failure earlier than the standard MRI or CT scans. The study was designed for patients with stage I-IV triple-negative breast cancer who were starting this specific treatment plan.
