New ultrasound technique could sharpen ovarian cancer detection

NCT ID NCT07280312

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests a new ultrasound method called ultrasound microvessel imaging (UMI) to see if it can better detect blood flow in ovarian growths. Better blood flow detection may help doctors more accurately assess cancer risk. About 40 women scheduled for surgery for ovarian lesions will receive the extra ultrasound before their operation. The results will be compared to standard ultrasound and final surgical findings.
