Eye scan could warn of Spinal-Tap headaches
NCT ID NCT07100158
Summary
This study tested whether a simple, non-invasive ultrasound scan of the eye could help predict which patients might get a specific type of headache after receiving spinal anesthesia for knee replacement surgery. Researchers measured the thickness of a nerve sheath behind the eye in 176 patients before and after their procedure to see if changes were linked to headache development. The goal was to find a quick way to identify patients at risk for this uncomfortable but usually temporary side effect.
