Sound waves could spot rare nerve disease
NCT ID NCT05095870
Summary
This study tested whether a simple ultrasound scan could help doctors diagnose CANVAS, a rare genetic disorder that causes balance problems and nerve damage. Researchers used ultrasound to measure the size of nerves in the arms and legs of 35 patients with confirmed CANVAS. The goal was to see if nerve ultrasound could become a new, non-invasive tool to identify this condition more easily.
