Stool test could outsmart colon cancer in High-Risk patients

NCT ID NCT07378930

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study compares two ways to prevent colon cancer in people at very high risk. One group gets a colonoscopy every three years as usual. The other group does a simple stool test every year, and only gets a colonoscopy if the test is positive. The goal is to catch and remove dangerous growths earlier, reducing cancer risk. About 940 adults aged 40-75 who have had multiple advanced polyps removed will take part.
