Researchers test ultrasound as new way to spot hidden bowel damage
NCT ID NCT06516237
Summary
This study aims to see if special ultrasound scans can detect bowel scarring (fibrosis) in people with ulcerative colitis. Researchers will compare ultrasound images to actual tissue samples taken during routine colonoscopies from 50 adult participants. The goal is to develop better, non-invasive ways to monitor bowel damage without always needing biopsies.
