Summary
This study is evaluating a family wellness program called Turtle Island Tales that aims to prevent childhood obesity and reduce future cancer risk in American Indian communities. The program uses cultural stories and activities to promote healthy eating, physical activity, and family bonding. Researchers are working with 200 families in high-poverty areas to see how well the program reaches communities and improves family health behaviors.
