Scientists probe the roots of disfiguring skin tumors

NCT ID NCT00001975

Summary

This study aims to understand what causes the skin tumors that develop in people with tuberous sclerosis, a rare genetic disease. Researchers will enroll 400 adults with the condition to examine their skin and collect small tissue samples (biopsies) from any tumors. The goal is to analyze these samples in the lab to learn more about the genetic and cellular changes that lead to tumor growth.
