Cornmeal protein study seeks to unlock better nutrition for aging populations
NCT ID NCT07272668
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at how well healthy adults over 60 absorb tryptophan, an essential amino acid, from cornmeal. Corn is a major food source worldwide, but its protein quality is limited. By measuring breath samples after controlled meals, researchers aim to improve protein recommendations for older adults.
