First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested whether trimetazidine, a drug used for heart conditions, can improve recovery in people who had an acute ischemic stroke. Sixty adults with moderate to severe stroke symptoms were enrolled within 6 to 12 hours of symptom onset. Researchers measured changes in a blood marker of inflammation, stroke severity scores, and disability levels to see if the drug helped reduce brain damage and improve outcomes.
