NCT ID NCT06545461

First seen Jun 13, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at 108 people with early chronic kidney disease (CKD), high blood pressure, and a condition called metabolic acidosis. Researchers compared eating more fruits and vegetables versus taking sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) pills to see if either could slow kidney damage and lower heart disease risk. The goal was to find a simple, affordable way to help people with CKD stay healthier longer.
