No drugs, no needles: touch therapy eases menopause blues in new study

NCT ID NCT07532512

First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looked at whether therapeutic touch (a gentle, hands-off energy balancing technique) or acupressure (applying pressure to specific points on the body) could reduce mild-to-moderate depressive symptoms in women after menopause. 156 women aged 45-65 took part, receiving eight sessions over four weeks. The goal was to see if these non-invasive approaches could improve mood without medication.
