Summary
This study tested whether a single group therapy session could prevent mental health disorders in 120 women who were recently displaced by the war in Ukraine. The therapy, called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), teaches skills to handle difficult thoughts and feelings. Researchers measured anxiety and depression symptoms to see if the session helped keep women from developing worse mental health problems.
