Summary
This study tested whether putting vancomycin powder directly into the surgical wound during brain surgery can prevent infections. Over 1,100 adults having neurosurgery were randomly assigned to receive either the standard care or standard care plus topical vancomycin. Researchers tracked infections for 90 days after surgery to see if the powder made a difference.
