Less invasive tonsil surgery may be as effective as full removal for sleep apnea

NCT ID NCT07580170

First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a tissue-saving tonsil surgery works as well as complete tonsil removal for adults with obstructive sleep apnea and enlarged tonsils. About 132 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two surgeries and followed for up to 5 years. The main goal is to see how much breathing during sleep improves after each procedure.
