New combo therapy aims to reduce disability in severe stroke patients

Summary
This study tests whether adding an anti-inflammatory drug (tocilizumab) to standard emergency stroke treatment helps people recover better after a severe stroke in the back part of the brain. About 348 adults with a blocked artery will receive either the drug or a placebo alongside a procedure to remove the clot. The main goal is to see if more people can live independently 90 days later.
