New combo aims to melt fat without wasting muscle in obesity battle

NCT ID NCT05933499

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study tests whether combining tirzepatide (a weight-loss drug) with bimagrumab (an experimental drug) can help adults with obesity lose mostly fat instead of muscle and bone. About 63 participants will receive one of three treatments for 52 weeks, plus lifestyle advice. The goal is to see if the combo leads to better body composition and insulin sensitivity than either drug alone.
