First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looks back at the medical records of 624 people with liver cirrhosis who had a procedure called TIPS, which helps reduce pressure in the liver. The goal is to create a simple tool that doctors can use before the procedure to predict who might develop a brain condition called hepatic encephalopathy afterward. By identifying high-risk patients early, doctors can take steps to prevent or manage this complication.
