Scientists probe nose immune loss in aging

NCT ID NCT06039527

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 35 times

Summary

This study looks at why older adults, especially frail ones, lose important immune cells (T cells) from their noses. Researchers will compare young adults, healthy older adults, and frail older adults to understand how this loss happens and if it leads to more respiratory infections. The goal is to learn more about aging and immunity, not to test a new treatment.
