First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study observes how doctors, patients, and families use time-limited trials (TLTs) for people in the ICU who need a breathing machine. A TLT is a shared plan to try ICU treatments for a set time, then check if the patient is recovering. The goal is to find the best way to use TLTs to reduce time in the ICU and improve experiences for families and staff.
