Night shift diet hack: 10-Hour eating window may tame blood sugar

NCT ID NCT07451132

First seen Mar 06, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looked at whether limiting eating to a 10-hour window each day (including a mandatory fast from midnight to 6 a.m.) could improve blood sugar control, appetite, and body clock function in night shift workers. Twenty-two healthcare workers who regularly work nights followed the time-restricted eating plan for 8 weeks, then their usual eating pattern for another 8 weeks. The goal was to see if this simple schedule change could help offset some of the health risks linked to shift work.
