First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at whether time-restricted eating (eating only during a set daily window) can help manage blood sugar and weight in adults with type 2 diabetes. Over 24 weeks, 115 overweight or obese participants on metformin tried TRE without counting calories. The goal was to see if this simpler approach could improve blood sugar control as well as traditional calorie restriction.
