New blood marker may help track ankylosing spondylitis activity

NCT ID NCT07383805

First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study will check if a protein called Tim-3 on certain white blood cells (neutrophils) can help doctors measure how active ankylosing spondylitis is in a patient. Researchers will compare Tim-3 levels with standard inflammation markers and MRI scans of the spine and hips. The goal is to find a simpler way to track disease activity. About 81 adults with ankylosing spondylitis will take part.
