Summary
This study tested whether a numbing injection (nerve block) in the neck before thyroid surgery could reduce pain and the need for strong painkillers. Forty adults having thyroid surgery were split into two groups: one got the nerve block plus general anesthesia, the other got only general anesthesia. The researchers measured pain levels and how much opioid medication was needed after surgery.
