New drug combo aims to boost power of standard thyroid cancer treatment

Summary
This study is testing whether a drug called larotrectinib can make radioactive iodine therapy more effective for people with advanced thyroid cancer that has spread to the lungs and has a specific genetic change (NTRK fusion). Participants will take larotrectinib for six months, followed by standard radioactive iodine treatment. The main goal is to see if this combination helps shrink or eliminate lung tumors more effectively than radioactive iodine alone.
