New therapy aims to curb opioid risks for cancer patients in pain
NCT ID NCT05643027
Summary
This study is testing whether a 6-session talk therapy is practical and helpful for cancer patients who are taking opioid pain medication and are at risk for misusing it. The therapy helps patients cope with difficult thoughts and feelings related to their cancer. About 40 adult cancer patients will try the therapy and answer questionnaires to see if it's acceptable and might improve their mood and medication use.
