Summary
This study tests a new way to reduce intrusive memories in people with PTSD without requiring them to consciously recall their trauma. Participants will first be exposed to subtle reminders of their traumatic event, then play the video game Tetris. The goal is to see if this approach can lower the number and intensity of distressing memories. The study involves 106 adults who experience at least five intrusive memories per week.
