Fighting fire with fire: High-Testosterone therapy aims to shock resistant prostate cancer

Summary
This study is testing if giving very high doses of testosterone, along with chemotherapy or a targeted radiation drug, can help control advanced prostate cancer that has spread and stopped responding to standard hormone-blocking treatments. The idea is to shock cancer cells that have adapted to low testosterone by flooding them with it, potentially making them more vulnerable to other treatments. About 69 men with this type of advanced cancer will receive different combinations of high-dose testosterone injections with either chemotherapy drugs or a radiation therapy that targets prostate cancer cells.
