First seen May 04, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study checked if a generic version of tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (a drug used for HIV and hepatitis B) works the same as the brand-name drug Viread. Forty-seven healthy Chinese adults took both versions under fasting and fed conditions. The goal was to see if the generic is absorbed similarly and safely, which helps ensure affordable treatment options.
