First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looked at how tenapanor, a drug for irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C), changes the bacteria and chemicals in the gut. Thirty-six adults took tenapanor twice daily for 8 weeks and provided stool samples. The goal was to understand the drug's effects on the gut's ecosystem, not to test if it works.
