First seen Nov 24, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested a telephone-based guided imagery program to help adults quit smoking. Over 1,200 daily smokers from Arizona, New York, and West Virginia took part. Participants received coaching calls and were checked at 3 and 6 months to see if they had quit, using breath tests to confirm. The goal was to see if this approach could be a practical, scalable way to help people stop smoking.
