NCT ID NCT06594562
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests whether a remote expert can guide a bedside ultrasound to detect fluid buildup after liver surgery. Forty patients will receive the remote-guided exam, and its accuracy will be compared to standard imaging. If it works, it could speed up diagnosis and reduce the need for in-person specialists.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that remote-guided ultrasound is a reliable way to quickly detect complications after liver surgery, potentially improving access to expert diagnosis.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early feasibility study with only 40 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The technology depends on good internet connection and may not work for all patients.
