Video training for dentists: just as good as In-Person for preventing cavities?
NCT ID NCT07232797
First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested whether dental interns can learn to apply cavity-preventing sealants effectively by watching a video instead of having a teacher show them in person. Fifty children aged 7 to 9 years each had two molars treated, one by an intern trained via video and the other by an intern trained face-to-face. After three months, the sealants placed by both groups were equally likely to stay in place, suggesting video training could be a useful tool for teaching this preventive skill.
