Can 'Teach-Back' keep anal fistula patients out of the hospital?

NCT ID NCT07323160

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a teaching method called 'teach-back' helps patients better understand their recovery after same-day anal fistula surgery. In teach-back, the patient explains the instructions back to the nurse to make sure they understood. The goal is to see if this approach lowers the number of patients who need to return to the hospital and improves how satisfied they feel with their discharge education. About 76 adults having this surgery will take part.
