Summary

This study looked at whether a short, painless brain stimulation technique called tDCS, given before an afternoon nap, can improve sleep patterns linked to memory and thinking in healthy adults aged 60 and older. Twelve participants completed computer tasks, received either real or fake tDCS, and took a monitored nap. Researchers measured sleep brain activity and tested memory and attention after the nap to see if the stimulation helped.
