First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tests a drug called deutetrabenazine to treat tardive dyskinesia (uncontrolled muscle movements) in 25 adults who have both intellectual/developmental disabilities and a psychiatric or behavioral condition. Participants will take the drug for 24 weeks, with 5 clinic visits to check movement changes, daily living skills, quality of life, and caregiver burden. The goal is to see if the drug works as well in this group as it does in people without intellectual disabilities.
