New transplant technique aims to cut deadly immune reaction in half-matched donors
NCT ID NCT05236764
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 35 times
Summary
This study tests a stem cell transplant method that filters out certain immune cells (TCRαβ+ and CD19+) from a half-matched family donor's blood. The goal is to lower the risk of graft-versus-host disease, a serious complication, and allow patients to avoid long-term immune-suppressing drugs. It includes adults and children with blood cancers or non-cancerous blood disorders who lack a fully matched donor.
