First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looked at 25 adults with traumatic brain injury who had brain surgery. Researchers measured a blood marker of inflammation (C-reactive protein) to see if giving the sedative drug dexmedetomidine during surgery lowered inflammation compared to not giving it. The goal was to learn more about how this drug might affect the body's response after brain injury.
