First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a sedative called dexmedetomidine can lower inflammation after brain surgery in people with traumatic brain injury. Researchers measured C-reactive protein (CRP), a marker of inflammation, in 25 patients who either received the drug or did not. The goal was to see if dexmedetomidine might help control the body's inflammatory response after surgery.
