First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study will enroll 1,500 pregnant women with HIV in Uganda to find the best way to screen for tuberculosis (TB) and decide when to start TB prevention medicine. Researchers will compare symptom-based screening with a blood test and test starting prevention during pregnancy versus after birth. The goal is to reduce harm to mothers and babies from undiagnosed TB.
