First seen May 18, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether adding taxes to unhealthy foods and subsidies to healthy foods changes what people buy in an online supermarket. About 2,239 adults will be randomly assigned to see regular prices, taxes, subsidies, or both. The goal is to see if these pricing strategies improve the overall nutritional quality of purchases, especially for lower-income shoppers.
