New brain scan battle: which test best spots Alzheimer's?
NCT ID NCT06618872
Summary
This study aims to determine whether a newer type of brain scan (tau-PET) provides better diagnostic information than the current standard (amyloid-PET) for people with mild memory problems. Researchers will compare how each scan affects doctors' confidence in diagnosing Alzheimer's disease versus other causes of dementia. The study involves 120 participants aged 50-85 who already need an amyloid-PET scan as part of their standard care.
