Sleep drug tested for violent dream disorder

NCT ID NCT05922995

Summary

This small, early-stage study aimed to see if a daily dose of the drug tasimelteon could help people with REM Behavior Disorder (RBD). RBD causes people to physically act out their dreams, which can lead to injury. The study measured if the drug reduced these dream enactment events and improved sleep quality for 20 participants, but it was terminated early.
